ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE CYPRUS ONCOLOGICAL SOCIETY

The Cyprus Oncology Society (OEK) welcomes the protective measures that have been taken for oncology patients in response to the pandemic. The measures are in line with both government guidelines and OEK recommendations.

OEK calls on patients to follow the instructions of the treating physicians and hospitals, which aim to provide the best possible protection for both patients and staff.

At the same time, it expresses satisfaction for the continued provision of oncology services under the unprecedented and difficult conditions that the country and the world are going through, assuring that as a Scientific Society it will continue, in collaboration with the Greek Cancer Society, to support the efforts of its members.

Finally, it wishes to express its thanks and appreciation to the health professionals, who, in adverse circumstances, offer medical care to those of our fellow citizens in need. OEK extends special thanks to the health professionals of public hospitals who, despite the difficulties created by the pandemic, continue to support the Oncology Centers and Departments in practice.
