Cyprus Oncology Society
The Development of Oncology Services in Cyprus
Cyprus has a long and distinguished history in the development of oncology services.
The journey began with the introduction of radium therapy in 1934. Over the decades, the country has consistently expanded its clinical, scientific, and supportive care capabilities.
Key institutions, professional bodies, and national initiatives have all contributed to shaping today’s comprehensive oncology landscape.
This progress ultimately led to the formation of the Cyprus Oncology Society in 2002, the official scientific body for oncologists in Cyprus.
